Load2Learn - Looking for user group participants on an accessible formats project
by Cherry Wylds - Learning Technologist Support Co-ordinator - Saturday, 10 September 2011, 07:37 PM

Load2Learn is an exciting new project to create a database of digitised curriculum materials for print disabled children in state secondary schools in England. Dyslexia Action and RNIB have been awarded this project by the DfE to give children with dyslexia, who are blind or partially sighted or who are print disabled access to the school curriculum.

Materials available will include textbooks and other published learning materials including set texts, images, published worksheets and past exams.

Our initial focus will be on the 5 core subjects for GCSE entry level, these are; English Language, English Literature, Maths and Science.

We would like to invite Maths, English and Science teachers along with school SENCO’s to join our user groups. Your role within our user groups will be to test our online database and provide us with your feedback to ensure the service is as good as possible; helping us improve the lives and learning outcomes for children with specific learning difficulties.

If you would like to be involved in our user groups for this project, please express your interest to Soulla via email sloizou@dyslexiaaction.org.uk, providing your name, address, contact number and email address. Alternatively you can call Soulla on 01784 222305 for further information.
